Clip1:

Following  retromastoid craniectomy, the dura is opened and the cisterna magna is punctured to drain the CSF.This exposes the lower cranial nerves, which needs to be protected.

 

 

 

Clip2:

Arachnoidal dissection over the tumor; and tumor debulking is carried out. CUSA helps.

 

 

 

Clip3:

Posterior wall of the  int. auditory meatus is drilled out and the facial nerve is identified to facilitate preservation. The tumor is dissected away laterally.

 
   

Clip4:

The tumor is dissected away medially; continuation of the facial nerve is visualized. Intact facial nerve demonstrated after total tumor excision.
